Sullivan Penn Fruit

Louis Sullivan emerged from a Penn Fruit in West Philadelphia the day before its grand opening, refusing to answer reporters’ questions about his opinion on how it employed ornamentation. Later that day, he was spotted having brunch at a rustic pub off Rittenhouse Square with Thomas Eakins and an exchange student from Lyon named Jerome. They were said to have talked passionately about roses, alpaca sweaters, and the chamber music of Reynaldo Hahn for over five hours.
